Sample Schedule

9 AM – Introduction
10 AM to 12 PM – Every participant will write scripts for anchoring with footage. Ron Burke, Comcast SportsNet Anchor will instruct, critique, and lecture all participants performing these segments.
12 PM – Lunch
1 PM – BeIN College Football announcer and CBS radio anchor/host Matt Martucci speaks about play-by- play. We will then show participants samples and highlights from games that they will do play by play on. These include NBA playoff, Super Bowl, and World Series games. Martucci will teach participants to make play-by-play shot sheets and prep charts, working with each individual calling a game. Each participant will then record play-by-play with a partner, with Martucci teaching and critiquing.

Monday

Tuesday

9 am to 12 pm – National NFL reporter Sal Paolantonio speaks to group about reporting. Everyone will then write standups and perform them while being professionally critiqued by Paolantonio.
12 pm – Lunch
1 pm to 4pm – Participants will create PTI style sports debate shows and football preview shows in pairs.

Wednesday

9 am to 12pm – Every participant will write, perform, and be critiqued making a sports radio news update. Longtime sports talk radio host Glen Macnow will work with each individual. Participants will then do sports talk radio shows with Macnow and then with a partner.
12 pm – Lunch
1 pm to 4 pm – All campers will be given editing lessons and will practice putting together reels from on air days. We will also do interviewing lessons.

Please bring a pen, notepad, and a hand held recording device like a digital recorder or cell phone. Digital recorders can be purchased at Staples or Amazon for around $25. Most campers bring cameras or cell phones to take pictures with our celebrity guests.
